We’ve been outside the office! And out of our Oxford-based comfort zone...
At the end of February, we were honoured to be named as one of ConnectTVT’s 50 Game Changers for 2020, an award that is now in its fourth year.
A few delayed trains later, we were enjoying wine and canapés in the Curious Lounge in Reading, celebrating innovation in the Thames Valley with lots of inspiring people and businesses from the region.
As the Co-founder of the programme, Matt Bovey, put it: ‘The 50 Game Changers is all about celebrating the region’s true innovators, the exceptional leaders and teams shaping the Thames Valley’s future. While 2020 has the potential to be a brilliant year for many, our cohort still needs support from outside their own networks to reach their full potential, particularly developing sustainable talent pipelines, investment in innovation and ecosystem’.
We were the only representatives of sustainable fashion in the room, so we took the opportunity to talk to anybody who’d listen about the importance of organic cotton and ethical manufacturing, and – to satisfy the tech slant – how we’re working to incorporate blockchain technology to improve transparency for our customers and impact reporting.
It was great to bump into some familiar faces, such as the Wonky Food Company, who were also named in the 50. You can check out the other businesses on the 2020 Gamechangers list here, and find out more about the award.
A massive thanks to Louize Clarke and Matt Bovey for including us in the 50 Changers cohort. We look forward to more great events to come!
