Sneak peek at a Burlesque troupe photo shoot
Burlesque dancers are known for their unapologetic body confidence and empowerment, so who better to model Y.O.U underwear at our latest photo shoot, step forward Cream Tease of Oxford - the city’s first and finest Burlesque Dance Troupe!
Last weekend was a break from the norm – we met Miss Cherry Buns (Lauren, @misscherrybuns), head mistress & choreographer of 'Cream Tease' Burlesque Dance Troupe, and her members for a photo shoot with a difference. The stage was set at The Red Lion pub in Oxford, which served as a gorgeous backdrop for this fun-loving group of women to strike a pose in a range of Y.O.U’s organic cotton, Fairtrade and PETA-approved vegan underwear. No more twirling their tassels!
Favourite undies at the shoot included our black Mara matching set of bralette and bikini bottoms, worn by Miss Cherry Buns, who commented: ”I really love the adjustable straps” and “you don't get that muffin top effect” - we agree!
As a feminist underwear brand, we want to do all we can to promote realistic impressions of bodies. Nothing wrong with stretch marks and cellulite in our book! That’s why Y.O.U Underwear has taken the Ethical Move pledge and vowed to adhere to the principles of ethical marketing. We are big advocates of showing an inclusive and diverse group of people in our images, and we never to edit or airbrush our photos. And why would we need to, just look how Lisa (@ladyzoodoo) Lady Zoo Doo, Adrienne (@miss_ticklish_lickwish) Miss TickLish, and Marion (Ms France Tartelette) are working it!
Cream Tease are a mix of body types and Y.O.U underwear offers sizes from XS-L in our soft bralettes and 3 band sizes with 2 cup sizes in each, C to F cup in our more supportive bra, so the group were more than covered! “There is more support than I was expecting, but you still get a good bounce” commented Miss Lady Zoo Doo! She especially liked how all Y.O.U bottom styles (thongs, bikini bottoms and boy shorts) come in sizes 6-22, and in 7 classic colours and 5 vibrant prints.
