Self Love Unleashed: Meet the Speakers Kickstarting an Empowerment Revolution!
We’ve just got back from the best and busiest week of the Y.O.U summer so far! As many of you will know, the summer edition of the Self Love Revolution Tour culminated in Luinluland’s Self Love Unleashed camp, quickly followed by a trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
It’s been a bit of a whirlwind, and while we finally take some much needed rest back at Y.O.U HQ, we’ve been reflecting on some of the brilliant experiences of the last few weeks and the people who made it such an impactful journey.

We learned so much from each and every person who hosted a talk or ran a workshop at these events and who inspired us, and so many others, to reconnect with our self worth and take up space!

At Lou’s camp, set in a peaceful and unassuming area of farmland in Bedfordshire, an incredible group of women came together and shared meaningful connection in a step away from the outside world, which allowed them to refresh their purpose.
Take a look at some of the speakers on the schedule and the messages they shared with the group:
Nasreen El Mariesh & Rachel Lawlan

Naz and Rachel both work as lifestyle coaches helping women, particularly middle aged women, learn how to put themselves first and reconnect with what makes them feel passionate about the world. Their talk Rewiring Self Sabotage, explores how women often make themselves smaller and shy away from bold steps which could change their life.
Laura Ferry

Friend of Y.O.U and deeply inspiring writer and content creator, Laura shared her story and how she came to step into her self worth. Having lived so much of her life for other people and always striving to please everyone except herself, a life changing health scare made her realise it was time to start living for her. Laura's joy is so infectious and we just love that she spent the entire four days swanning around in her different Matching Y.O.U Underwear sets!
Sarah Jordan

Our very own Sarah Jordan, CEO and founder of Y.O.U Underwear, hosted her own talk sharing her journey into running a pants business. From a charity and tech background to a life-changing trip to Uganda, Sarah's discovery of the impact of not having underwear and also the challenges of the fashion industry led her to do something different - and set up Y.O.U Underwear. It's been (and still is!) an emotional and challenging journey and Sarah was so grateful to the response to this talk, with more people signing up to model the underwear and looking for ways to get involved and support our mission.
Jodie McLean

Sex and pleasure coach Jodie, works with women to help them discover their sensuality and find their power in mid life. Understanding that the menopause can be a confusing and exhausting time, she encourages working with, rather than against, your hormones and finding joy in discovering who you are becoming now. This was a joy and power that Jodie later brought to our photoshoot, looking beautiful in her Mara set!
Laura Mears-Reynolds

Laura's charity ADHDAF+ work with people of marginalised genders who have been diagnosed with ADHD after the age of 18. The charity works to help people navigate neurodivergence as well as trying to make the world a more inclusive place through support groups, events, and education. Laura brought her ADHD bingo event to the group to help shed more light on the ADHD experience.
Sara Jane Maxwell

With years of experience in the finance industry, Sara set up Wealth Coach as a way to share her knowledge with others and encourage people to overcome mental barriers when it comes to money and taking control of their finances. She works to make money visual and vibrant, helping people see it as a tool for building the life they want rather than feeling overwhelmed and confused, leading to missed opportunities.
Ronke Fashola

Ronke left her job in fashion buying to pursue her dream of running her own fashion company. What started as a side hustle eventually led to her living her dream full time and sharing her colourful creations with like-minded women of all sizes, shapes, ages, and skin colour.
Sandie Roberts

Sandie's emotionally charged talk discussed her journey from feeling stuck and suffocated to embracing herself and living the life she loves. Taking each day as it comes, having lost people along the way, she eventually was able to envision a more joyful and authentic life and to embrace herself and her disability fully. She now works to help people conquer their fears and find their self worth as well as advocating for disability representation and working as a model!
Donna
Filling in at the last minute for someone who couldn't make it, Donna hadn't prepared a talk but that didn't matter! She was a natural speaker and shared her story of how fitness and weightlifting helped her find her purpose after losing loved ones. After a very successful run entering bodybuilding competitions, Donna decided she was going to help other women to find confidence in the gym, look after their fitness, and build physical and emotional strength through coaching.
What's next?
Thanks to such an inspiring line up of speakers, it was impossible not to go away feeling rejuvenated and inspired to follow your dreams and find your self worth.
It's been fantastic to be able to hear everyone's stories over the summer and to see people finding their confidence through our underwear photoshoots as well. We're so excited to share the final images with you over the coming weeks!
And don't worry - while the summer might be drawing to a close, the Self Love Revolution is sticking around! We're taking a bit of time to rest and plan the next few events but you'll be able to catch us at Ideas Fest, Pause Live, The Good Clothes Show, and more over the next few months, so keep your eyes peeled for more information...
