New to ethical fashion? Starting a sustainable capsule wardrobe is a great way to begin your journey towards a sustainable closet! We’ve put together a list of some of our favourite fair trade, ethical clothing brands in order to help you make investments into the best, highest quality clothing that’ll last you years to come.

  1. Underwear

Let's start with underwear, when building a capsule wardrobe the key is simplicity and efficiency, so our signature bralette and thong are perfect. Both pieces are super soft,  made with 100% organic cotton and smooth against the skin, with no VPL in sight! Coming in a range of colours to compliment and match all skin tones, our underwear is perfect to be paired underneath a sheer blouse or white trousers- who knew ethical underwear could be so perfect!

  1. Casual Tops

Moving on to casual tops, everyone needs a versatile bodysuit in their collection! We love Boody’s classic black bodysuit thats so easy to layer under cardigans and jackets for when we head into autumn, or tucked into your favourite pair of jeans for an effortless summer day-time outfit. It's the ultimate classic, adaptable, and ethical top that will last you years longer than its high street counterparts!

  1. Dressy Tops

Now for a more formal top to add to your wardrobe. Why not try AYM Studio’s white halter neck crop top for an easy, ethical way to dress up any outfit. This beautiful double lined going-out top caters perfectly to both smaller and larger bust sizes effortlessly, due to its halter neck style that provides support and comfort, and the ruched cups that elegantly enhance the bust at the same time!

  1. Jeans

Denim-wise, how about these Unspun wide leg jeans that would look effortlessly put together paired with Boody’s black bodysuit, or even with AYM’s halter neck depending on the occasion! A trusty pair of non-stretch jeans are an essential for any capsule wardrobe, and made with 100% cotton they’ll last you forever.

  1. Skirts

In the market for something more delicate? We love People Tree’s paisley midi skirt for when jeans just aren’t the vibe. The skirt’s beautiful muted floral pattern is sure to go with just about any plain coloured top you own, not to mention the body suit and halter neck we’ve already suggested. Made from organic cotton, this is another timeless piece that is sure to last you years to come.

  1. Dresses

For your most dressed up occasions, we love AYM Studio’s  midi dress. With its double layered, high quality supportive fabric you’ll never have to worry about VPL and will remain a timeless staple in your closet! Image courtesy of aym-studio.com.

  1. Masks

We can’t forget 2021’s most popular accessory: a mask! Our Organic Cotton Masks are reversible, meaning you can go with a classic black or more colourful option, depending on your outfit! We also donate 10% of profits to Smalls For All, meaning your purchase will make a difference!

These have been some of our favourite ethical pieces that we believe would make the perfect new arrivals in your sustainable capsule wardrobe. Our final tips for shopping sustainably would be to consider places like ebay, depop and etsy for hidden gems- buying items from fast fashion brands on these sites second-hand is better than buying them first-hand!
Remember to always donate, upcycle, down cycle, recycle or sell your unwanted clothes instead of throwing them away- one man's trash is another man's treasure!
